Robert A. Shaffer, President, AIA, CID, LEED APArchitect, Foundation Architects
Bob has been a licensed architect and member of the American Institute of Architects since 1987. He also is a certified interior designer and a LEED AP (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design accredited professional). His bachelor’s degree in Architectural Studies is from the University of Illinois, Urbana/Champaign, one of the world's leading institutions for architectural education.
Bob loves to work directly with clients to develop unique, personal and affordable solutions that exceed their expectations. His methodical and pragmatic approach returns high-value results at minimal cost, on each project. Clients benefit from Bob’s experience in all aspects of a project (design, production and construction administration) and with his involvement in a great variety of project types including offices, dental clinics, schools, homes and other facilities.
Bob's attention to personal service, professionalism and dedication to the community is clear moments after any first meeting. He is currently serving his second term as City Council Member in the City of Golden Valley. After years of experience on the city’s Planning Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals, which helps him understand first-hand, the government processes that affect building, planning and construction of all types.
Brian Severts, Realtor

Brian is a Realtor and Associate Broker with Edina Realty’s 50th & France office. He has been successfully listing and selling homes in the Minneapolis residential market for fifteen years. During that time he has received corporate, local and national awards and designations for his work. Originally from far northwestern Minnesota, Brian came to the Twin Cities in 1983 to warm up and fell in love with the city, the wonderful neighborhoods, and the lakes.
Eric Ludwig
Architect, Laurel Ulland Architecture
Eric is a Senior Associate at LU|A with over 12 years of experience as an architectural designer and project manager. He has worked on a variety of project types, including site planning, public architecture, creative interiors and residential design.
Prior to joining LU|A, Eric was a project manager at U+B Architecture & Design, Inc., where he designed and managed numerous award-winning projects. Much of his recent work has focused on the design and construction management of residential penthouse lofts for clients around the United States. He has also designed a number of creative office spaces for various marketing and advertising businesses around the Twin Cities. His work has been showcased in regional publications and has won a variety of design awards, including an AIA Minneapolis Honor Award and the International Interior Design Association’s Grand FAB Award.
After receiving a Bachelor of Business in Finance from the Carson School of Management, Eric earned a Master of Architecture from the University of Minnesota’s College of Architecture and Landscape Architecture. As part if his education experience, Eric studied and lived in Spain, Portugal and Italy. He has also worked locally for Collins Hansen Architects and MS&R, Ltd. (Meyer, Scherer & Rockcastle, Ltd.).
When not in the office, Eric enjoys traveling, cycling and spending time with his young daughter. He is also active in local politics having recently served on and provided design assistance to the Stinson Parkway Task Force, which studied the implementation of a public bike route on Stinson Parkway in his Northeast Minneapolis neighborhood.
Rob Grundstrom
Sr. Design Project Manager I Store Design I Target Corporation
Rob is a design project manager for the New England region for Target Store Design. He works on a broad range of projects including remodels, new stores and unique projects that are dependent on the urban fabric markets. He has been with Target for 4 years and partners with developers and internal teams to facilitate projects that engage the retail guest and support the communities that are home to Target stores. In addition retail design, Rob has a design portfolio of award winning projects that range from Community and Educational buildings to the Historic Preservation of his Mid-Century rambler. Rob’s philosophy of design is that it needs to be simple, executable and to improve the quality of life of the people and community that use it.
